2024

Most of my work this year felt like re-learning color. I pushed myself to work with colors new colors to my palette.

2023

While I continued to explore different subject matter visual styles, I was also inspired to explore more specific textures this year: one of which being metal.

2022

A lot of my work this year was meditative of my cultural upbringing and identity.

2021

I continue to learn to create more compelling portraits with storytelling, leading to me working on my first commission for Mereba’s music visualizer for Rider.

2020

As many people during the pandemic, I ‘locked-in’ as the kids would say. I painted a lot, experimented with light color and styles, referencing old family photos and creating net-new compositions from multiple photos into one painting.

2019

I took my first painting class with Beverly McIver during my last semester of undergrad. I fell deeper in love with painting, the creative process and the continuous learning.

2017

I made my first oil painting this year, and created my first ‘series’ for the Duke Chapel’s inaugural fellowship.
